BACHMANN 10 WHEELER 4-6-0 & 2-4-2 PRAIRIE LOCOMOTIVES

Invert the locomotive and place on a soft surface to avoid scratches or damage. Remove the original coupler. Slip the gear box shank into the front pocket. This may require filing the sides of the shank. On the pilot with the narrow pocket the rear of the gearbox shank must also be cut off so that the relieved area in the shank will slip over the boss on the pilot. It may be necessary to slightly file the front of the pocket until it will do this. A hole is then drilled through the top of the pilot for mounting. A shim may be needed for proper height.
